Research & Development

The High-Performance Center “Integration of Biological and Physical-Chemical Material Functions” (LZ) offers industry partners a diverse portfolio of research topics that focus on the needs of the industry. We address current challenges through innovative approaches in the areas of

  • Alternative materials for design-to-recycle
  • Materials for 3D printing (filaments, recyclates, biomaterials)
  • Innovative materials for the integration of sensor systems
  • Data-centric science for material development (AI & data analysis)

In the coming funding period, we are bundling these topics in the cross-university project “Mat4Water”, which is dedicated to the development of a material platform for the detection and isolation of pollutants and reusable materials for water management. This project not only contributes to climate protection, but also has supra-regional relevance.

Our cooperation structures with the University of Potsdam, the TH Wildau and the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg as well as the involvement of the Fraunhofer Institutes IAP and IZI-BB guarantee applied research and development. We support our partners in the implementation of commercialization activities to promote the transfer of research results to industry.
