As part of the High-Performance Center, the Fraunhofer IZI-BB and IAP offer a modular training program. Here we teach participants how modern state-of-the-art techniques work in the life science sector.
There are a large number of complementary techniques from different manufacturers. In our training courses, we objectively evaluate the methods and techniques and compare their strengths and weaknesses for specific questions.
At Fraunhofer IZI-BB, we have numerous modern (bio)analysis methods at our disposal, such as Luminex, 2nd Generation Sequencing, bScreen and Biacore, and we teach the participants how they work. They also learn how potential (bio)markers can be extracted from the data obtained. We are also happy to assist with the transfer of these biomarkers to platforms such as ELISA and lateral-flow assays.
The training is directed to all persons from the industrial, academic and clinical environment who would like to learn more about the techniques or who would like to use the techniques. It takes place in small groups of max. 10 persons and can be adapted to individual needs and questions of the participants.
Due to the modular approach of the training courses, many topics can be discussed cross-method and manufacturer-independent. Each training course has a theoretical and a practical part, they can be attended individually or in combination.
The theoretical part imparts the basic knowledge about the technique, the execution, the sample preparation and evaluation. In the future, this part will be extended by elements such as blended learning in order to have as much time as possible for the practical experiments and for the questions of the participants.
In the practical part, the theoretical knowledge will be explained by experts on the equipment and experiments will be carried out by the participants. The main aim is to gain a deeper understanding of how the equipment works. After consultation, the participants can also bring their own samples as well as specific questions of the participants can be discussed.
